I’ve made it!

Can’t quite believe I’m writing this and although I’m normally quite happy to just sit back and read all your posts, I’m so proud to share my first anniversary with you all. So today marks a year that I had my very unexpected open heart surgery to replace my mitral valve after spending 9 months being misdiagnosed with COPD. I was so scared and although I’m very blessed to have an amazing partner, it was during covid and I was in Brompton alone. But I’ve done it and reached my first anniversary all thanks to Mr De’Souza and the Royal Brompton. I have a very loud mechanical valve and have a life time on warfarin but I’m here to tell the tale. I still struggle with all of it but I’m learning to love my zipper AND the ticking. So to you all I thank you for all the advice I’ve sat back and read and to all the newbies, you will get there x
