Diagnosed today with atrial fibrillation, pulse rate goes from 45bmp to 64, to today’s 91bpm, Heart Attack/ Stroke 2019 , feeling like I have gone backwards to that time, GP is starting me on Eliquis 5mg twice a day, after reading information sheet it puts the fear of god up you, I even have to contact my chemist in a weeks time to let him know if I am suffering any side affects. Is there anyone out there on the forum familiar with this drug, and how if anything they felt

Thanks for the reply, it’s nice to know friends on this forum can give you a feeling of calm, when you are in panic mode.
Hubby has been taking it since his last HA in November. He was changed onto Aplixaban twice daily from Edoxaban, which he took once a day. He is also taking clopidogrel for 12 months. No ill effects as far as I know! Patient Information leaflets can be scary!
Been taking it for a year, doesn't affect me at all, no bleeding or bruising issues. I have given up alcohol and only drink decaff tea and coffee which helps with the afib, am also on beta blockers now as my heart was going up to nearly 200bpm. It gies up and down from the 50s to 90s all the time even when not in afib.
Hi a week after my AVR surgery I went into AF all very dramatic heart leaping like crazy . I was put on Equis and it’s been a magical journey since ( 3 months now ) of feeling better and better . It’s worked for me. After a month I had a monitor and although there were palpations nothing like as bad and I’ve been feeling great , seriously since !! No dreadful side effects and no weekly blood tests . Good luck 😉
