Hi I take a magnesium supplement due to having Polymyalgia Rheumatica which is a Autoimmune illness.

It helps me with Muscle pain .

I do know several people who have Arterial fibrillation who say it helps but would advise you to speak to your GP or Pharmacist before taking anything that not prescribed by your GP or Consultant

Yes my GP is fine with it and way more natural than being hooked up to meds all my life. So natural too as can have magnesium in food, almonds, cashews, avocados, bananas, etc etc,

Apparently it’s one of the nutrients that might get effected if you on proton pump meds

I've taken magnesium glycinate for many years and feel it has helped reduce my Atrial Fibrillation situation greatly.

Which type of magnesium did you try, was it glycinate?

It was. These ectopics are so hard to not be afraid of. Hate the feeling

Have you seen Dr Sanjay Guptas talk on ectopics? If not I'll find the link for you.

I used to use that, but it made my stomach sore. I now take magnesium glycinate, from YourSupplements, mid breakfast. Someone on this forum recommend them. It's a case of whatever suits you

Just once a day then? I take 100 mg three times a day. I dont know how long I should take it for though. Can it be taken long term or is that unwise?

I can't really say whether you can take them long term. I've been taking them for many years, but I do know that foods these days are lacking in magnesium because of the way they're grown.

Here is Dr Sanjay Gupta's YouTube presentation on magnesium:

Nothing to do with my heart problem but soak in a bath with it for restless leg syndrome, works fantastic for that !

I have tried magnesium for constant pvc’s and bradycardia ( resting heart rate of 40) but it hasn’t helped. I was so hopeful that it was the answer as beta blocker didn’t work. I’ve been waiting 5 months for an appointment with a physiologist but still no date. Very frustrating!

I would say I am taking one tablet a week of magnesium citrate 500mg and felt better and energetic. After my 4 stents last year in post cardiac rehab. Any ideas on what vitamins would be a good idea. As taking berlinta, creator, esprin , ezetrol and concor on daily basis. A lot already on my plate 😅
