I have been diagnosed with aortic stenosis, and came into hospital yesterday unable to breath and coughing up blood . Fluid in the lung which has been removed . Kept in . Recently found to have low HB and diagnosed as being anemic .
Just spoken to a cardiologist who has said I have Heydes syndrome which is a common side effect of AS - the only answer is valve replacement. Had anyone got any information/ understanding of this addition situation ?

I'm sorry to hear that you've got more things to contend with Leonardo1. I'm at about the same stage in the journey as you so can't offer may advice or support I'm afraid.I've just joined a Facebook group called UK Aortic & Heart defects pre surgery and post surgery though. They have been so supportive and have offered lots of advice. One of the members spent nearly 2 hours on the phone to me today answering my questions and I feel a lot more positive about what's ahead. If you are on Facebook it might be worth joining.
I hope that you are OK though. Sending you love and best wishes
