I had an echocardiogram in early Dec. Got results on 14/1. Told Eject Fraction of 20-25%. Serious heart failure. Complete change of all meds. So shocked I had no idea, family all devastated, caused immense stress, went for MRI got results 2 days ago. EF47%. How is that possible. Anyone had a similar experience.

Hello potatoehead123

I had done my echocardiogram on 16 December , my ejection fraction was 24%, again complete shock to me and family. Im on all usual meds.

Abit strange, going from 20-25% then 47%. Even though its a positive sign.

Take care

Sami

Someone more experienced will be along shortly to advise I’m sure, but it is possible for your EF to improve dramatically with the right cocktail of meds. There is a specific heart failure charity called Pumping Marvellous which has lots of good resources and advice on their website. pumpingmarvellous.org/ Good Luck.
