Hello All , I've recently had 3 coronary stents , but no rehab because local hospital says Covid-19 means all rehab is cancelled . Just wanted to know how I should be feeling 6 weeks after stenting , what i should be doing etc, should i still be feeling sore?

The BHF run an on-line version of the Cardio Rehab course. I haven't used it but I found the face-to-face Cardio Rehab extremely valuable, so in your place I'd want to pursue whatever alternative is currently available.
Good luck!
Thank you. I'm also wondering about if I should still be experiencing tightness in the chest and intermittent chest pain?
I had two stents two years ago and no pain or discomfort at all. 6 weeks is time for hem to bed in and you should be feeling quite a bit better and taking gentle walks. Talk to your GP. Even though there's no face to face rehab, the rehab nurses should have been in touch by now . If they haven't contact your GP again to chase them up. They should be available by phone for ANY questions.
Could be the meds, clopidogrel can cause chest pain for reasons not understood. If in doubt though, get yourself checked over.
Hi my rehab is being done over video call, the nurse had a very helpful assessment with me I was concerned about what I should and should not be doing after my transplant in July, I then spoke to the physio who told me which rehab excersises I should be doing on the Bhf website which is great, when I get round to it! Also the dietitian is phoning next week, they have been very helpful and encouraging, not the same as actually going, I need motivation, but they certainly had the answers I was looking for, I wish you a speedy recovery and hope the rehab will be in touch char
Thats really good! I wish I could say the same - I do have the occasional phonecall - basically I'm asked if all ok and when I tell them how I'm feeling they say there is nothing to be done just wait and see and 1 min later "ok we'll call again soon - goodbye"
They seem to keep in touch with the hospital, they phoned yesterday to say they new I had an infection and wouldn't be able to do much and they would call after my scan next week, I was quite taken aback, I always felt communication was not the best in the NHS, proved wrong now! Char
Hi KF123. Good to hear you are keen to start some rehab. My incident and stents were 7 years ago and difficult to remember exact symptoms soon after the stents. I attended rehab classes and found them vey useful but they weren't offered until about 5 or 6 weeks giving me time to recover a bit first. I also picked up a BHF rehab DVD available at the time and used this at home. The same routines are now available to stream online at this link bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo... I would recommend using these and the BHF helpline if you still have worries about chest sensations. A morning walk every day before breakfast and going to work also helped me get back to reasonable fitness. I still have some mild discomfort in the chest if I overexercise but learned to ease off and have rest days if exercising a lot.
