Hello all. I had a double bypass and a stent fitted two years ago. I occasionally feel mild palpitations and shortness of breath which go away after a few hours. Has anyone else experienced similar conditions and shouldI be worried? Thanks.

Palpitations two years after bypass op
I had Open Heart Surgery last April to fix an aneurysm. I've had mild palpitations recently as well but no shortness of breath. It doesn't beat faster but just beats more noticeably at times for no reason. I'm on a small dose of Bisoprolol since last May due to episodes of Afib straight after my surgery as well as other medication. Ive been cutting out things like caffeine to see if it helps. I'm going to mention it to my cardiologist at my next fasciae to face appointment.
Agreed on that, if its really concerning I'd phone my GP or the NHS. From I personal experience I'm now far more aware of my heartbeat and heartrate. At the minute I don't think it's anything really serious. But I think it's worth mentioning to my Consultant as it could be caused by anything, like medication etc. I am due a follow up Eco scan anyway which would hopefully show up any issues. But everything is a bit difficult just now obviously as everything is on hold until the Hospitals are back doing a lot of the routine stuff. I do have direct contact with my cardiac nursing team if I have concerns. But I'm going to give a few days to see if it sorts itself out first before I give them a call.
My diet is pretty healthy, although not perfect. I may ring 111 if it continues. Thanks for your reply.
