Heart Rate Recovery time

Hi All, need some advice please.

I am in recovery from HA end of February. One stent fitted and feel in tip top health. I have been doing the BHF cardio rehab workouts everyday and I’m on level 5 with extra weights as it felt too easy. I have also just reached a personal milestone of running a complete mile without having to stop and no chest pain.

All sounds great but I am concerned about my HRRecovery. I can never seem to recover and get my BPM down below 80-90 for a couple of hours after exercise. I also did the 3 minute step test and I am showing as unfit yet I can outrun my healthy wife and children.????

Any experience would be appreciated.

Based on my experience recovering from an MI January 2019. The various aspects of fitness and healing do not all recover at the same rate, so some things will be fine quite quickly, while others need much longer. It’s also clear that every heart is different (and the other bits connected) and your body needs it’s own time scale.

.. or you could suggest your wife gets checked out😂 ( I wouldn’t!)
