I have been up and down. After my last post really got into walking and felt good as new for about 5 weeks. Then started getting discomfort in chest while resting. Nothing really painful but thought I had got through that stage? Stress seems to bring it on? Again doesn’t get worse on exertion, managed to do 2 mile walk yesterday up a hill. Just feel depressed that I still have symptoms after a period of feeling so good. Anyone else had this? Thanks x
Still getting “twinges” and discomfor... - British Heart Fou...
Still getting “twinges” and discomfort after four months. Stent to LAD.
Hi Bebo2. It’s frustrating isn’t it? I still had the odd ache and tweak up to around 4 months. It was usually when I’d overdone it on the exercise front and it quickly got better if I had a couple of quiet days. Anxiety and stress can cause chest pains though. It’s probably better to be safe though and talk to your doctor just to be sure it’s nothing to worry about.
It’s been nearly 6 years since my HA and stent put in my LAD. I randomly seem to have the odd twinge every now and then with discomfort. GP says I’m all good.
Sometimes get the odd twinge and pain, but I often find that , as I walk along, at around the 25 minute mark, I get some deep rumblings and truly astonishing belches . The pain vanishes and I go on my way, feeling much better. The phantom belcher strikes again.
Have you been diagnosed with unstable angina?
I complained for nearly 5 mo after 6 stents and changed to military docs who did CT/PET/Stress test with some findings I haven’t yet heard full results on. I was told to take nitro liberally for unstable Angina. I know they found Hyperkinetic LV and mine was brought on by stress or simply just sitting.
I was given an Apple Watch this week and can see my HR from 38-190 sitting since with some side discomfort and odd spikes during sleep.
I would suggest a call to GP so they are aware.
No, I was diagnosed with stable angina before the stent. I had one 2 cm blockage in my LAD. Apparently everything else was clear and so the stent should have sorted that? Done rehab and had follow ups with a full ultrasound all ok ? Worried about restenosis but no pain on exertion. When I first had pain ( a year ago ) I couldn’t walk any distance.
I will go and see GP Monday last time they said it was muscular ?
I had heart attack four years ago for 4yrs walking enjoying life but stil worrying about another ha now have slight pain come goes I wish I could try not to think and worry constantly and try to enjoy my life don’t worry walk slowly build yourself up again and if u are worried ask your gp
I still get discomfort and odd pains at rest or when just starting out walking if it is cold. I am 6 months post op and have a 28mm stent in my LAD. Feel great when exercising or on a long walk.
Hi,
So many comments that ring so many bells to me also, I am 52, 8 months post single LAD stent. I am told after so many post rehab, NHS and also private for my own peace of mind, I am fine, ECGs fine, blood test fine, stress tests fine, walking 15000+ steps almost every day, run 5K every Saturday, but then still so much anxiety, small pain in my chest here, little cramp there, strange light headed moments, (turns out small ear infection) after any HA, your brain thinks anything is your heart, arm neck, jaw, throat, legs and so on, all I am trying to say is we shouldn't take anything for granted when it comes to pain but so much for us mently leads any pain to the thought that it's our hearts.
I still get twitches and strange pains but so far it points to the meds, the blood thinners, the statins, the Ramapril, the Bisoprolol or similar cocktail. I think we are all going to be like this for a long while, it gets better with time, you learn to learn what ones are the real emergencies but it's taking time. I run 5K yesterday, all great, I had one small glass of wine with dinner and then a small bottle of bear two hours later, I woke up at 2am, with my heart beating so hard and then faster, I was in panic for half hour until it slowed, I am assuming it was the alchohol, any one else have this issue after even small amounts of alcohol.? I do also think that when we are walking and exercising we feel better, it's when we slow and rest that our minds start to work over time and you seem to notice more of your discomforts.
it states to be very careful with rampiril and alchohol due to drop in blood pressure.very best to you my friend
Sting in mainLAD artery on January 16,2020....felt great for 5 days... shortness of breath and exhaustion
I have had a very similar experience. I had a stent fitted in my lad in Jan. Then had about a month where had little or no chest pain or discomfort. However then started getting chest pain on and off but not really linked to exertion.
It comes and goes and sometimes is worse than other times. Contacted the GP twice who sent me straight to a and e. Both times they did ecgs's and blood tests and said there was nothing wrong. The last time they said it probably was not related to a heart issue, although it feels like it is. One Dr said may be a side effect of the Medication but I thought he was just saying that to offer some explanation.
When things are better I have got back to cycling and jogging. However chest pain and discomfort nags away at my brain !!!
Trying to ignore it. Don't want to contact the GP or NHS 111 as they will just send me to a and e which seems a waste of their time and mine
What to do !!!!
