Are you taking the Omeprazole 30 minutes before you eat anything ? Also according to NICE guidelines see bnf.nice.org.uk/interaction.... It suggests that the two should not be taken together, my GP changed me to Lansoprazole. You should go to GP and discuss it with them or your Cardiac Nurse .
Thank you Penfold_5 there was no info on my packaging about how to take other than can be taken with or without food My Doctor has switched me over to Lansoprazole 30mg (where do they get the names from) and on there fact sheet it tells you to take 30 to 60 min before food, You won't believe this Have never had a Cardiac Nurse just the Consultant From Southmead Hosp Bristol, probably cutbacks its a newly built Hospital. But thank you for your time
Hey no problem... pleased you got it sorted. Just as a foot note, I keep mine on my bedside table to take as soon as I wake. Therefore giving it plenty of time to get into the system, before brekkie and the other pills ! 😀
I suppose we are all different. My situation and medication were similar to yours, although my omeprazole was to deal with additional ibuprofen and colchicine due to pericarditis. I have to say the omeprazole had no noticeable adverse effects. I took it - plus asprin, clopidogrel, colchicine, ibuprofen and my diabetes medication - together immediately after breakfast. I did wonder if my daily ration of pills actually constituted breakfast...
