Where it says 'who can see this blog post' recommended - 'blog is visible to everyone'
surely it's best for blog to be ' visible to only members of this community', wouldn't that distract trolls and undesirables.

hi
they become members, as only members can reply, inrespective of how it is shown.
there is only one answer report and ignore.
Oh right I see - of course, thanks
Just to show the level of people who post against those who don't - click on 'Directory' on the blue menu bar at the top of the page - see how many usernames you know. Loads of 'lurkers' who are reading what we put and, because we can see they have a username, they are 'members', so can see posts that are 'visible to only members of this community'
If an idiot wants to cause problems, they will sign up - you can only post under a username, not as an 'outsider', so no - it won't stop them.
Mark is right, the majority of posts need to be visible to encourage more people with these problems to come here and take part.
Thanks Mark and Gordon, I am just a little bit thick !
I clicked on Directory gordon there was 37 pages of names and yes loads of names I didn't recognise - a few scary ones too.
Around 33% of members log on to the community and on average spend 50 mins there on each visit. Roughly it 's a 50:50 spilt between new and returning visitors.
Apparently that's pretty good going for a community like this.
The other thing to keep in mind is if you use visible to all anything personal is broadcast on the world wide web making it even easier for trolls to target individuals who are vulnerable. Making visible to all just helps the trolls to find new places to get their kicks. That is the nature of a troll, they troll the internet looking for targets to upset and support groups to disrupt.
