hurting ribs

Hi everybody, I think I have asked this before, but my lungs feel as if they are trying to burst out of my rib cage, giving me terrible pain mainly in the upper back area, any help would be great Thanks and I hope that you are all enjoying your Bank Holiday even if the weather is rubbish. Its common in COPD im afraid Julia your lungs are expanded with air that can't get out so my consultant tells me they push on your ribs and cause pain, it is prominent in Emphysema sufferers .

Good morning thankyou for that information, the pain got that bad yesterday I could not stop being sick, dont feel too good this morning hence the time I am up 4.14 am, I just feel as though I am going to explode, at first I thought it was down to the worrying Im doing about my hubby ( he has a hernia and over the weekend when he coughed you could feel his intestines pushing out just under his belly button) Take care Julia x

have you seen your doctor about this ? maybe something that can help or at least an explanation after xrays etc
