How many days use should I expect before the red marker/20 doses left bit appears on my Symbicort inhaler, am using it x2 puffs am and pm.

I have just spoken to our resp nurse and the prescription needs to be coordinated with your GP. An example of this is when a GP prescribes a 28 day course of tablets - this is obviously not a complete month, you can then be in the situation when you have run out of tablets but your prescription is not due until the next month.
We would suggest asking your pharmacist to calcuate how many doses your inhaler has, how many doses you have and how long then the inhaler will last. You can then take it along to your GP so they can adjust your prescription so you are not short.

Thanks Jo, I have been running out about a week before the due date on the repeat script and have repeatedly returned to the Surgery to get a replacement one made out.
The latest Script says 10th of Sept, don't think I'll reach the weekend before needing a new one, the Receptionist does not understand the problem.

10th September is a long way off - chat with the pharmacist asap - it's also a bank holiday aswell - don't hang off getting another one.

Actually Woodshaper - i would suggest for the moment bypassing the receptionist and asking to have a telephione consultation with the GP.

Hi Woodshaper, i am a pharmacy technician that helps patients with copd in the community.
Your inhaler should have a number of doses on each device, and if you are using 2 puffs twice a day then you are using 112 puffs per 28 days. If your inhaler says 200 doses that means over 28 days you are using 112 doses so one inhaler should last you more than 28 days.
If the inhaler says 60 doses then you would need two inhalers each month.
