Do any of you use trans trach for your oxygen it is all quite new as it is not long since the scoop was put in so following instructions carefully as the learning goes on.

Congrats on getting your trans trach! I don't have it myself but am hoping that some time over the next couple of years I will. I don't mind wearing my cannula but want to get longer times from my portable and hopefully stay well oxygenated at lower flow rates in order to take my physical training / sport ambitions further. How are you finding it so far? I would love to hear all about your trans trach journey.
Can I ask which hospital/ surgeon did the op - it is really hard to come by info here in the UK compared to Europe and the States. Amazing when you think it's been around for almost 25 years! Eagerly looking forward to hearing more from you, Parvati.
PS. For anyone who has not come across TTOT (Trans Tracheal Oxygen Therapy) before - the following site gives a good outline on the procedure and it's benefits, patient experiences, catheter cleaning protocols etc. I do have ulterior motives of course 
the more people that know and ask about it, the easier it should become to get it! P 
The operation was carried out in France when we are there my husband works in Rouen with our apartment not far from his office. It was paid for by the health insurance that covers us both and carried out as a day case which surprised me greatly that now there is still a little nervousness about what can be safely allowed with my new freedom. To be a child at Christmas overawed by what is being seen although not fully believed in for a time this is where I find myself.
