Channel 4 is making a primetime series about people who are dealing with end of life as the consequence of life limiting illness, including lung disease. The aim of this series is to present the subject of death to a mainstream audience in an open and honest way; thereby adding to the wider debate about how we approach death culturally, practically, and spiritually.

They are looking for people to take part in the series from a range of backgrounds and life experience who have a terminal illness and are keen to hear from people who are going through this journey - what’s it really like to face death? What becomes important? What becomes insignificant? Do people treat you differently? In what ways does life change?

If you, or someone close to you, are in this situation, and you’d like to find out more please get in touch with the BLF Press Team on: press@blf.org.uk or call 0207 688 5580. All your information is kept confidential and by contacting us you wouldn’t commit yourself to anything.

think that the 'end of life' can be far away whilst knowing it may be shorter than it would be without eg COPD. so not necessarily someone who is at 'death's door' would help spread the message that life can be elongated, limiting illness can be managed and good lives can be lived.

Good point Julie! The documentary is looking into a number of people's experiences who live with a range of diseases, not just lung conditions. What will make the documentary so interesting will be the mix of subjective views about death - not everyone sees the end of life in the same way of course.
