Very busy at the moment, hence uploading this at 9.00 pm. clients who send regular work are always welcome, but, there are limits. enjoy this next part, Chris.

Recently, mum went on a cruise through Germany with her grand-daughter Wendy and by all accounts had a wonderful time. One evening Wendy was pushing mum in her wheelchair in the general direction of their cabin when another passenger stopped them. "Are you taking Lily off to bed Wendy" "No she isn’t'", was mum's reply" How old do you have to be before you can choose what time you go to bed?" On another occasion however Wendy deemed it was indeed time for Granny to go to bed. A year earlier mum had been on a cruise to Norway and had enjoyed a walkaround the deck before turning in for the night and saw no reason why she could not do the same with Wendy. There was one small difference, on the cruise to Norway everything was well lit, whereas this year, it was a much smaller boat and there was virtually no lighting. Granny was not to be deterred. So, it was with not a little trepidation and armed with a torch they set off for a turn around the deck. "A bit to the left Wendy, there's a chair. Straight on, now to the right. Oh, what's this? It looks like someone’s feet." As the beam from the torch travelled upwards it eventually settled on a courting couple. "Oh, don't worry" said mum "| can't see very well'" Wendy, however had seen only too well that it was Dave, the driver of their coach who was in a passionate embrace with one of their fellow passengers. At this Wendy decided it was indeed time for Granny to go to bed. "Morning Wendy" said Dave as she got on the coach with Granny next day. "Morning Dave!" replied Wendy.

The year before my sister had taken mum on a cruise to Norway for her 90th birthday. a brilliant holiday for all. several months after the trip mum started asking "what are we doing for holidays next year, i`d like to go on another cruise." Dorothy`s reply "mother you are no 90 every year, with a bit of luck we`ll have a caravan at Cleethorpes." Mum`s reply "Don`t be such a misery." Dorothy and Les were anything but miseries when mum was concerned. Not to be outdone, mum contacted all her 5 grandchildren asking "who will take me on holiday next year, and I`ll pay for both of us." hence, Wendy being the volunteer to take Granny on holiday.

My mum was an amazing person. When they lived in The Priory, it was open to the public 12 days a year and she loved nothing more than showing people around. It was a house full of laughter and a fair amount of noise. My nephew organised his 40th birthday party there. he contacted old school mates complete with wives, kids and others to a party at The Old Folks Home. I might embelish on that at a later date. take care everybody, Chris.
