gorgeous photo.

Am in the middle of house clearing and have come across photos of family members from 1870 I love to see the clothes and wonder how long it took to save up for a special photo on a coalminers wage.!

I believe that my mum`s grandma possibly had a bit more money than the rest of the family. We never went short but there was little in reserve after the war. We have been fortunate to live through possibly the best period, with continued growth and increased spending power. I fear that will not last for long unless we change tack. I must change tack and get some work done before taking wife to see her lung consultant, only 110 miles away in Toulouse. Have a good day, and look out for next instalment, Chris.

Just looked at your interesting photo on my husband's 95th birthday (today) so he would have been nearly one year old when this photo of your parents was taken. Beautiful photo so hope it will be kept/handed down for many more years.

I hope that it will be handed down, but fear that current generation do not always look back on family as we used to do. I seem to have taken on the role of "family scribe" and much to my surprise have discovered that I actually enjoy writing. Something that my English teacher would never believe. Must go and take wife to see consultant. Bye, Chris.

can totally relate to younger family members not being as interested in family history / photos .I asked my daughter to put her family into our birthday book from1888 it was a very much a case of will humour mum but not interested!

Hope that your wife's appointment went well.

Beautiful Photo , I have one of my mum &dad with all the bridesmaids and long trailing flowers. The new generation seem to take phone pictures which don't seem to get stored or get lost in cyberspace. Hope your wives appointment went well. Bye for now
