I came across an article on this recently. Littlepom… I wondered if you’d been involved in the research. It sounds promising:
Brensocatib is a new anti-inflammatory treatment that is being studied for its potential use in bronchiectasis.

I was enrolled in the trial at heartlands hospital but the drug co. Closed the list the day before I was due to start. My consultant mentioned it again this week as they are still trialling the next stage. Apparantly those who were on it did so well that they continued them on the drug after the trial finished, which is good news and unusual. It is the approach to our problems which my consultant was working on since the 70s.
I’m sorry you weren’t able to get on the trial Littlepom. Why is it taking so long if they’ve been working on it since the 70s? Money I suppose. It sounds promising though. Any idea when it might become available? Sadly too late for many of us I suppose.
Nobody took him seriously and all drug companies ( who pay for the trials ) were only looking for new antibiotics. Once new antibiotics became more difficult to find and other researchers looked into his work it was taken up.
Hi Littlepom,Wow that sounds brilliant, how could I get that from my consultant, my breathing has gone downhill since having covid, and doesn't seem to be getting any better.
Trish x
Its a shame these drugs take so long to get onto the market, it sounds like it will be beneficial to us bronchs , there isnt much in the way of meds for us x
