Quite honestly Mrbojangles l am sick to death of seeing those adverts between Life Insurance adds and funeral adds, they are so darned false acting, as soon as either of them come on l turn them off and switch to a more interesting channel.

The big worry for me is if you pay up front are they going to do a runner with your money. So many things were your money is supposed to be held in a safe place. But it's not. I have been thinking about leaving my body to medical science with all my ailments I have and I believe you don't have a funeral then. Just a good get together for your friends of which I don't have many . Perhaps my health problems being examined might help people in the future. Brian

Your family are thanked and informed of when your remains are no longer needed for medical research and then over to them to dispose of. Could be weeks, could be years. Make sure you stipulate remains not to be returned and to be disposed of by hospital if that’s what is required. ‘Medical research’ is a glammed up name. The direct cremations are a good idea if you have died with no funeral plans in place, they’re cheaper to use there and then than pay in advance. What a subject. Chin up y’all! I see that Bingo is thinking about leaving his body for research. I too would like to leave my body for no better reason than I don`t like funerals. We often have to attend funerals of family and friends which can be a most distressing time, so, to my way of thinking as it will be my own funeral I can choose not to go, can`t I? Does that make sense to you or am I having an off day. Take care, Chris.

I agree with you. I have told my family I don't want a funeral and they said they will go with whatever I want. Why put family through that. I would rather they had a day out and remembered me that way

Some people actually enjoy funerals whereas I get far too emotional and am desperate to get away. My mums funeral was not unexpected, she was 103 and there were contributions from grandchildren. My brother-in-law was at times sombre but lightened up by others who spoke. My sister`s was not existant as end of Covid restrictions and family spread all over the UK. Private cremation with her daughter and family, then ashes scattered in Scarbourough and in Wales. Family and friends were asked to celebrate her life in whatever manner they thought appropriate.

Quite true but there are weddings. My nephew was getting a bit fed up with one elderly relative who everytime they mey at a wedding said to him "Soon be your turn". Eventually as time went on they saw less of each other until another family funeral. I think he took great delight in saying to same elderly relative "Soon be your turn."

Beginning to think these 5* raters are specially employed no matter which company is advertising. Beware yesterday I had a scam call supposed to be reviewing my existing life policy. Reported to my genuine insurers. This is another phone scam someone ringing and then when you ring back they say you have rung them , when you have not even rung anyone. What a crazy world we live in . Hope you are well and can see the funny side of this but its not easy when your continuously targeted at a large cost to your bank balance in your latter years, and no one can catch the scammers. Or verify that's what they did to you due to data protection. Sorry I am being too serious now. Enjoy your day.

Owing to my illness I paid for a Pure Cremation and have filled in a review.Been covered for over three years and with this company your money is safe and protected.The reason I did this was to take as much strain away for my wife and as we still manage to get out ,if the worse happens they will collect my body from anywhere in England with no extra fees and will help her with everything.My family will then celebrate with a big meal paid by me my last gift and it will safe them having to go through a service which to some can be pretty boring.

I would just like to say on pure cremations I use to think not very highly off them until I was asked by my uncle to see to things I did and I found everything was conducted quick easy and no stress and I've over seen maney funeral s in my time I'm having pure cremation and husband
