that’s a really good post. COPD sufferers who did smoke are made to feel so guilty and not worthy of help and good health. Thank you x

Love it Joe because so many people say copd is due to smoking only I have it emphysema end stage recently got results of spirometry test 23percent lung function members on here helped me feel ok with it as I was upset one of my sisters has copd aswell but was told don't know how she git it as she never smoked just how on earth can any professional say that only smokers get it is there a way to share what you put up onto fbk .

Hello Joseph,

It is always good to raise awareness of COPD. However opinions on the numbers of those who have COPD as a result of smoking vary considerably, some putting it at as high as 70%.

No one benefits from smoking, it always damages the body in some way or another. Increasingly those who smoke controlled drugs are having their lungs severely damaged too. Better not to smoke at all ( says a convert to non smoking )

It is good to raise other causes of COPD as well.
