Nebulizer

I haven't been on for a while as unable to cope with everything that has happened to me in past seven months ,been diagnosed with rheaumatiod arthritis and a fractured spine ,I was recently in hospital with chest dr said I must go in as aswell as antibiotics I needed nebulizer, I can't tell you how bad it was in there ,but this hospital in wales has made the news for its wrong doing a few times ,I have jumped the gun and purchased a medix ac2000 nebulizer as I don't wont to go in that hospial ever again not the staffs fault but the governments going back to nebulizer the problem is I haven't got any nibs to go in it ,my brother has lone me four 2.5 Salbutamol untill I see my gp that is if my gp will prescribe for me ,I won't to no if 2.5 is the Norm ammout of Salbutamol for nebulizer, appreciate any advice Alice

Hi Alice, sorry to hear you’re having lots of problems and I hope things improve. Pete used Ventolin 2.5mg twice daily in his nebuliser. He now has Atrovent. I hope you can get all the help and support you need and can stay out of hospital. Xxx❤️

Yes but only saying infection treat or something like that nothing about nebulizer

Sorry to hear you haven’t been too good lately. It’s not pleasant i know when you aren’t happy with hospital. I can understand. Salbutomol in nebuliser is usually 2.5, yes. I bought a nebuliser because it helps so much when you have exacerbation. My GP has now prescribed salbutomol and saline for me to use when absolutely necessary. The doctors tell you not to rely on nebulisers too much.

I hope you feel better soon , i would try and speak with your GP, and get reassurance.

Oh Alice this sounds dreadful, having rheumatoid is bad enough but to fracture your spine must be very worrying and being in a hospital that is not good, well no wonder you are glad to be home. I can't advise on your nebuliser but hope you get what you need x

It comes in 2 strengths but sounds like 2.5mg is what you need if GP will prescribe. Ask for some Saline too if you need to loosen things up.

hi, i’m sorry you had such a negative experience in hospital. My recent stay with respiratory infection was the most positive I’ve had Ward. I was on provided care in the old fashion way. It was good. I have seven diet and it was excellent. Previously put on all the walls in this hospital. I’ve had awful admissions. This one was good.

Are use a nebuliser daily, it was prescribed by the consultant when I was diagnosed over four years ago. After a bit of arguing, the hospital let me borrow one of theirs.

County respiratory team provided my nebuliser they also visited a few times to check my techniques .

I nebulise with normal saline 2.5 twice daily. I don’t use salbutamol unless I’m struggling or have an infection. The normal saline helps me clear my chest ,stops mucus building up and getting infected. You could perhaps ask the GP if you could have a referral or to the respiratory team or try to find out their phone number. Then you could give them a ring.

County, I live in believes in supporting people to stay out of hospital and this is what they’ve able to do for its also cheaper to give support at home than to have hospital admissions.
