Cardigan Bay
you are not having much success getting info are you ? . cardigan bay is an enormous area . Goes from fishguard in south up to portmados and abersoch in lleyn peninsula > I spent all my childhood holidays in that area around barmouth , at a village on the road to harlech called Lllanaber. long time ago , lots of wide sandy beaches .know nothing about the present day . have you asked for info from tourist board. ?
i remember road to harlech is near the sea and and walked acreoss road through lane with stone walls full of snails ! funny thing about memories and little things you remember . have stayed near harlech in small hotel with good food and went to the castle then fairly well preserved. in wide open spaces that must have been sea once. When i retired used to go used to go bird watching along the river Mawddach estuary. There is enormous rail bridge across estuary mouth that you can walk across to an very small village , Fairbourne, in danger of being flooded by the sea, and it has a little steam railway there.
further north is Porth Madog a bit more busy, with a steam train, the festiniog railway that goes tinto the hills to the old slate mines at Blaenau Festiniog. that is quite popular too.. the lleyn peninsula and abersoch is into sailing and has a number of regattas in that area in summer.
i guess you want places to walk here are the beaches and if you go inland you have got the mountains . you don,t have to climb mountains lots of water to walk round.
now get some up to date info and go . send us a report when you do .
60 years ago had two holidays in a farmhouse in Llanaber …went back to Barmouth with my children 40 years ago .
I lived on the coast of Cardigan Bay for 37 years. Until 2018.
Yes it’s long: 65 miles. We lived in Tywyn. 4 miles from the more popular (wealthy tourists) Aberdyfi. Beautiful area. The coast road to Fairbourne has stunning views
You could park overnight at several places but not sure about now Google the tourist board for up to date information
So many places to see and explore I wish you happy travels: you won’t be disappointed Best wishes Diane 😊
have a good time this weekend---- w herever you go
