I've been on C Pap for years. They work great and allow for restful sleep. RESMED is the best brand of equipment in my opinion. Long life and it will communicate with your doctor and yo through the net and tabulate your results. Highly recommend.

I was prescribed an Elmis BiPap machine after a hypercapnic episode. I am a CO2 retainer and it helps remove it overnight. Being claustrophobic, I was at first terrified of the full face mask the hospital presented me with. With persistence (I dont know why they were being so nasty!) they gave me one that just covers my nose and mouth. I didn't think I would, but i sleep like a baby (I used to wake at least every 2 hrs), and wake really really refreshed 😀,

I dont know the reason for your question, but if you are offered one go for it! I had no choice (pesky CO2!), but the sleep benefit is amazing.

Hope this has helped, all the best, Laurie xx

P.S. He is known as Victor (the ventilator!), the only man in Mum's (me) life 😱🤣😂🤣

PP.S. It was supplied, set up and monitored by Lane Fox at St. Thomas'. They are so lovely, always happy to answer questions and solve any problems. Like having a second family! xx

Sorry to hear of your problem and that you wake so often in spite of your NIV, it's a bugger.

I am getting my cataracts done soon and I was worried about my current mask interfering with my eye. They sent me an under the nose mask! What kind of mask do you use? xx

Hello 😊👋 I'm pleased to see you posting although I know it's not the best of circumstances. I hope you are doing okay or at least a bit better. Cas xx 🌼

they are brilliant, I have a sleep app in my phone not anything to do with the machine and my sleep has improved so much also the clinic may ask permission to study it, you can also look yourself on the screen but I never have! I don’t feel so shattered in the day. You have different mask options, I have the I that goes over the nose only. I have had my machine for over a year, I have added a dehumidifier for it and recently a heated pipe as I was getting water in my mask. It’s a bit strange at first but I got use to it very quickly and it’s lovely having the air to breath in. Good luck and if you need anymore help when you get it , please contact me, good luck! X

Mr friends ex had to go on one of these, he was very against it at first but once he got used to it said it was the best thing that he had been given as his sleep went from almost none to a full nights sleep x

I've had one for 7 month for sleep apnea had to have a humidifier attached to it after it was making my mouth very dry. I'm still not 100% used to it but I'm determined to percifere, my copd nurse told me there brilliant and to percifere with it.
