I have been taking Furosemide for the last 7 or 8 years - I have cardio problems. I plan my journeys so I know where I can go if I need to so am rarely stuck at home. It can curb things a little but not altogether.

I know exactly how you feel, there are some days I think I am playing University Challenge with a starter for 10 - trips to the loo that is. I normally take 80mg per day but dpending on how much fluid I am carrying then that can go up to a maximum of 320mg but when at extremely high levels have to remember to go for regular blood tests for kidney function. Been asking for a long time for a change to the likes of Spironactolone but it just falls on deaf ears at our GP.

It's another diuretic but seems to work more efficiently.

Help lower your fluid retention naturally on top of your meds by cutting down on salt and having more potassium foods like fruit and veg.
