OctoberBY ROBERT FROSTO hushed October morning mild,Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;Tomorrow’s wind, if it be wild,Should waste them all.The crows above the forest call;Tomorrow they may form and go.O hushed October morning mild,Begin the hours of this day slow.Make the day seem to us less brief.Hearts not averse to being beguiled,Beguile us in the way you know.Release one leaf at break of day;At noon release another leaf; One from our trees, one far away.Retard the sun with gentle mist;Enchant the land with amethyst.Slow, slow! For the grapes’ sake, if they were all,Whose leaves already are burnt with frost,Whose clustered fruit must else be lost—For the grapes’ sake along the wall.

poem for Today
Nature getting ready for winter Iris. I am not ready for it this year thats for sure. Hope you are keeping well x
old age is getting at me, think I have posted this twice. Everything is getting harder. Will probably have to let this habit go. Finding just going from one room to another wears me out. I got stuck in the bath, not strong enough to get out, was there for a couple of hours, eventually made it, but still feeling the after effects. Never again, very frightening.
I wouldnt worry too much about posting this twice Iris , its a nice verse. So sorry to hear your problem about getting out of the bath. I had the same thing a while ago when my arthritis was bad thinking a warm bad would ease it and couldnt get out, had to roll onto my front and pull up my knees but that was only 25 minutes or so . I can imagine how frightened you must have been if you were there for 2 hours getting cold. I havent had a bath since and only take showers now, unless my daughter is visiting. Dealing with age is difficult, at least you have family near which is a good thing. Take care x
Thanks for good poem reminding us that autumn is here. There’s lovely colour in trees, hope don’t loose leaves too soon. Weather today is autumnal, nice sun here in Midlands, don’t want thunderstorms tomorrow bring leaves off. Jean x
glad to see you posting again nana! I missed your poem last week. Hope everyone is doing well, lots of love xx
Robert Frost is such a sensitive poet. Sorry that you are not too good, Iris. Your experience in the bath sounds horrible- welcome to the showers only club. xxxx
