While being admitted to hospital my husband tested positive for covid and as I had a sore throat I suggested being tested and was positive too.
Ten horrible days later I've at last tested negative, but my poor husband's isolated in CCU and on Vapotherm, of which I know very little and understand even less... As I'm unable to visit at present I'd really appreciate learning more, in plain English?

So sorry to hear both you and husband have suffered covid Pippers and that your hubby is in hospital. I have never heard of Vapotherm but I looked it up and it sounds like a replacement for a mask and a bit like a cpap. It will be more comfortable than a mask thats for sure, lets hope he gets better soon and back home when he can recuperate properly x
Thanks so much for taking the trouble to look up Vapotherm lzb1, I did the same. Not having had serious health problems since childhood polio he'll be so distressed, I hope now to be able to visit and pass on at least a little reassurance
Ok, so now I've visited my husband I'm a little more clued up on Vapotherm, which in layman's terms seems to be more than a concentrator but not quite a ventilator, with high velocity therapy delivered through an advanced type of nasal cannula rather than a mask, No intubation. Currently set at 30 litres it's pretty noisy, as you can imagine,.. the aim is to reduce that to a level that can be sustained at home Might take days, weeks or even longer, everybody's different. Thank you all so much for your good wishes, I return mine to you. Cheers...P
