Hi Gaswal, do you only require oxygen for exercise or would you also need it for your journey either by flight or overland?

You can hire continuous flow Portable Oxygen Concentrator’s, but you can’t get one that goes above 3 flow rate, I think you might need to contact someone for oxygen hire abroad, here is a website that may help you: oxygenworldwide.com/help/wi...

You could also try contacting Pure O2: healthoxygen.com/

They might be able to help.

As for the cost I was booked to go to Gran Canaria just weeks before the Covid pandemic struck Europe in 2020, I have my own privately owned Inogen one G3 POC which I was going to use for the journey there, I was quoted around £400 for my continuous flow oxygen concentrator for bedtime, that was through the EHIC scheme which alas we are now not part of since Brexit, but the holiday was cancelled anyway because of the pandemic.

I hope I have been some help.

Ian.

Hi Ian1967I need it for exercise.

I have only been on it for a few Months.I have had followups from My Oxygen Nurse.

It appears that i have improved from starting on it,(the oxygen,my sats have improved).

She thinks that i now don`t particularly need as much as initially prescribed,(two to four hours a Day).

Thats why i`m considering a concentrator, another problem is that i`m on level four constant flow and as you say the concentrators only do pulse.I`ve contacted the Nurse for information.I am concerned at both the cost of Travel insurance and really need to get a handle on how much it will cost to hire equiptment?

I have also heard that there`s a Charity in Benedorm that hires out equiptment.

Thanks for replying

Hi Gaswal, there is a concentrator SeQual Eclipse, which is continuous flow up to level three only though. FAA approved. You can hire them too. I have looked long and hard as I usually go to Spain in the winter and hope to try to go this winter.I am going to try one out this autumn on the NHS - as few days in North Devon. I need continuous flow 3-4. Then I will know how to go if and when I manage to go.

I suppose the cost would depend on how you travel there, insurance - which is vital though quite expensive - plus the usual holiday expenses . I dont know
