Hello Colby. I am wondering if you have had your heart checked out. I have bronchiectasis and for 3 years was told that my increasing breathlessness was because I was mismanaging it. When I finally succeeded in getting my heart investigated I had developed dilated cardiomyopathy. It's worth looking at our problems from a different angle.
No Colby. You are not seeking attention, your asthma is!I seem to remember that you are fairly recently diagnosed? If so, it will take a while for your meds to kick in, but that does not mean to say they cannot be adjusted or new ones added in.
When was the last time you spoke to your GP? Did he give any indication of what is causing your pain?
I’m wondering if it is muscular. Sometimes when you are not breathing properly you use auxiliary breathing muscles and this can cause muscle strain. Just a thought.
I think it would be a good idea to ring the asthma nurses here on -whatever this is called now. (Asthma U.K.) Have a good chat with them and once armed with the knowledge and understanding they can give you, book an appointment with your GP to get the help you need.
Please don't feel you are attention seeking. Lung diseases are very uncomfortable and scary to live with. It is a struggle. We are hear to listen you, it is what this forum is for.XXX
Its distressing when you can find no relief for your health problems Colby. Troilus has given good advice and the suggestion of ringing the helpline on 0300 222 5800 is a good one as i am sure they will be able to suggest the correct way to go. If nothing else go back to your gp and explain to him that you need help to get this under control . Let us know how you get on x
i hope no-one would be so crass as to suggest you are an attention seeker. I'm sorry you feel so bad at the moment, but I hope the constructive suggestions from some of our fellow lungies will help. Please don't give up. xxx
