Trimbow inhaler

So a few weeks back I started using my ventolin a bit too much on low barometric pressure days up to 6 times daily when weather was like this... my other inhaler was spiriva respimat ..

Move forward to appointment with nurse at GP practice .. offered me a choice of spiolto or trimbow to see if this would curb the over use of ventolin .. I choose to trial Spiolto as Trimbow has a small amount of steroid in it ...

Moving on Spiolto gave me every side affect known to man headache.. dizzy.. sickness .. absolutely vile stuff took myself off it and rang the nurse to explain my desire to try Trimbow...we argued for a bit as she didn't want to give me Trimbow eventually after much persistence and me knowing my own body and lungs I got it yesterday...

I took the Trimbow as prescribed started yesterday morning around 10 am ....haven't touched my ventolin since starting it ..

Don't give up on yourself if you know you want..need or just want a trial on a new inhaler . Do it I'm feeling so much better today than I have done for weeks and if I need the ventolin I can still take it have a lovley weekend everyone πŸ’œ

Its only right we should have choice and knowing ourselves is much better than the practise nurse who sees you once every 5 years πŸ˜‚

Glad you got sorted out with a better inhaler for you bb. We know ourselves better than the HCA or nurse that’s assigned to see us I have my MOT tests on Monday then a follow up a week later with the student/nurse who used to be our HCA and whom I have argued with in the past. X

Oh my keep me updated on that one ... I hate it when they try to tell you what you want and you know you're going to argue with them ...

I'm so pleased I'm feeling better now..

Good luck for yours I will be behind you all the way πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I’m really glad to hear Trimbow is helping! It’s horrible when you know a medication isn’t helping and causes a multitude of effects! But glad Trimbow is helping so far! 😘

It's horrible when nobody wants to hear your voice about your body and what it's needs are .. I must know me by now it's been 65 years ...

But if the Trimbow continues as its doing fantastic happy days...

Thanks ❀️

I can't believe the difference from taking ventolin quite a lot to not taking in any in 2 days is quite remarkable πŸ‘Œ

I am so pleased you were assertive with the nurse and received an effective inhaler :) It was very interesting to read your view regarding barometric pressure and increased use of salbutamol. I have noticed my breathing is poor with extreme temperatures both hot and cold. My asthma attacks increase during winter.

Happy to hear you are breathing easier :)

I'm okay in the heat...When the barometric pressure is low I was feeling quite bad and ventolin didn't have any lasting effect for me ..

I have COPD stage 4 diagnosed 7 years ago but I knew I had it years prior I was just too busy smoking to worry about it...

Then I got a chest infection went to the GP and after having a spirometry test with a lung function of 46 %

I gave up smoking that day and haven't touched it since

I have increased my % over the years but numbers don't mean anything to me it's how I feel that matters

Many thanks for your comment πŸ’œ

I have taken Trimbow for a few years now. At first I wasn't very keen and said I was reluctant as I take a wee while to get used to it. Well, I started on Trimbow and haven't looked back since. I think it is a really good inhaler and it works for me. I hope you continue to feel better in yourself. Take care of yourself.

I missed this post. I am so glad to see such a lovely example of how we can be quite knowledgeable of our body needs and the perseverance it takes to be heard. Well done BBand enjoy your doggie walks and photo taking. Grace

I missed the post too, but I'm very glad you have found an inhaler that does the job. Stories like yours and Littlepom's inspire the natural wimps among us (me) to be assertive if needs be. Enjoy your lovely forest. xxx

Awww Alberta that's really kind I'm sure your not a wimp and are just as capable as the next person of telling people what your about...

Silly nurses πŸ€ͺ... oops I was one before I retired but I did listen to each and every single one of my patients .

They were asleep most of the time as I worked in theatres for 30 years and did mainly anaesthetics for my sins πŸ˜‚

I'm much better at asserting myself if husband or daughter need something.

Hi Blackbird9Why do the nurses have to argue with patients, surely it is our choice to have the correct treatment, we know our disease and symptoms, your not alone in having to question them..... I have asked them many questions regarding COPD and treatments and they don't know the answers. It's really annoying, you just want what's right for you. 😊
