Told my consultant as I am feeling very much better today, I thought I would stop my medication and inhalers. He has zero humour.

Must admit they don't have any humour what so ever , mine was going on about how I have to go on my machine six times a day and how it may break into my sleep pattern I told her if I wake up dead I'll remind myself that I have to take my meds she wasn't amused either 😂😂😂

Been in all hospitals in and around London, come to the conclusion we are lumps of meat, to be treated accordingly. Don't mind, really, most of the nurses have been a sight to behold. Even their attitude has changed over time, they only want to get through their day,nothing else.

In honesty the nurses are underpaid and have been since before COVID but it as taken its toll on them . I get what you mean though we are all just meat sacks with numbers. And the government just sees people with health issues as an incumberance to the system

I'm not a political person and think it's actually a global thing people with severe health conditions are kinda looked on as a bit of a burden it's pretty much the same here . Here instead of being in a hospital having care they send you home for your family to care for you . Palliative care is in your own home with your family dealing with 99 percent of everything.

It's not working but I don't and never will blame the nurses, vast majority are so nice, coming back from an operation and seeing their lovely faces makes me very grateful to them ❤️. Managers who cock the whole thing up ,is were the problem lays

One thing I do miss,sunshine, not allowed to sunbathe or be out in it,not allowed to shower, bath ,use a sauna, hot tub, jacuzzi, have to keep the blinds shut so no rays of sun comes through, all because of fentinal, the pain killer that doesn't kill the pain, just dullls it. Have to keep the top half of my body as cool as possible. Heat can lead to massive heart attack. Life is a bummer at times, but it will not beat me, for sure.

You keep that positive attitude , stay focused on remaining positive , I say I'm in control it's not going to control me ok it's kinda got me over a bit of a barrel because I have set times six times a day to be on my machine and if I miss it I pay for it by having a seizure or blacking out so If I do go out I have to be in for set times so constantly clock watch . But we have to live by rules and we do . Like I said stay positive and focused 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I just go with the flow, the doctors here gave me a time limit but then said we're not god we only go on what it adds up to on paper. They even sent a letter saying exactly that to the DWP pension department. In the meantime I enjoy waking up in a morning and make the most of the day.

Governments just don't care !! Kids deserve a chance to have a life , one thing I have noticed since being here on TV is the hospitals for kids in Egypt Canada and other countries but the UK just going down hill and its not the staff or doctors it's funding from the government that lets it down

My sister wendy passed in the St Vincent de Paul's hospice, at the age of 12.place run by nun's of the Italian order, she had brittle bones but she was a absolute delight and beautiful.

Sorry to hear that buddy . The big problem here is no hospice you are sent home and your family take care of you . I'm buggered because I'm on my own 😂 so a case of live alone die alone .

Have been using cannabis oil, just to see if it will help me to blunt the pain. It actually blunts my pain quite a bit. 4 drops under the tongue gives me about 5 hours of semi relief. It also helps me to sleep. Am comfortable using it, the wacky part has been removed, the pain was full on, had to try something.

Hey if it works use it , I have good old fashioned morphine that definitely kills the pain but try to avoid it for obvious reasons it's addictive

Am on fentinal patches, 150, changing every 3 days, very dangerous drug, my doctor tells me its 100 💯 times stronger than heroin, but still the pain gets through. It's now the biggest killer of addicts in the u.s.a.major problem for them. Th. ey mix it with other drugs, idiots

Well it's expected in the US 🤣 , I mean CDs are seriously monitored here and you have to be in a bad way to get morphine you can't get simple things like cocodamol they look at you like your a druggy 😂😂😂😂

I was on a drug called shortec until I read up on it. Mix it with fentinal patches and you can expect a death, mine. Yet it was one of the doctors who put me on it. Bloody fool. We as patients really need to be on the ball, for sure.

Oh definitely , I remember a few years ago I had chicken pox really bad doctor put me on fluxomiacine after the second dose I looked like I had been hit by a truck paramedics called out I was allergic to them so now I have to be double careful because of the language barrier and the fact I don't read Greek so I get the pharmacist to translate everything to me

Another one they put me on was called zopiclone, to take the pain down allowing me to sleep. It sent me doolally, put me into a coma at night, sleep so deep, I weed the bed, iwas collapsing all over the place. Saw my doctor and he said that for the ten minutes I was with him, he never understood a word I said. Wow, keep away from it.

I must be lucky as my consultant at Guys (London) has a great sense of humour and is willing to discuss my concerns, what travel plans I hope/would like to make and the best way to facilitate this if possible.Agree totally that nurses are incredible and not looked after properly as they deserve.

No I totally agree 👍🏼 the system here is completely different to the UK in some aspects it's far better . Take for instance if you need a scan or something like that you have to wait for an appointment in the UK . Here if your GP says you need an MRI CT or ultra sound x-ray triple x for veins etc all can be done same day
Thank you very much for your text, and hallo to you. The one consultant that I got on very well with was a professor John pepper who removed my blocked aortic valve and placed a mechanical one in. Thanks to him, I have had an extra 23 years, so far. He was a very nice and funny guy.

Paramedics and nursing staff are very underrated by the government they don't see truly how hard they work and sometimes have to put up with abuse from drinks drug addicts and others
