Hi Dion you are so very to be going to Lourdes, I went three times when I was at school but like you I promised I would go back. It's a beautiful place to visit I hope you enjoy it and you get some healing benefits from the water. I can't help you with your oxygen situation maybe you could ask admin they may be able to help you. Good luck and enjoy your pilgrimage. Have a good night and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx 🌻🌻

if you are able to wait until tomorrow I will try and get the answer you need. My granddaughter has been to Lourdes 3 times now as a voluntary helper, this year being the first she has missed due to her getting married. She is a nurse and is working a long day today.

i wasn't aware that Baywater did not supply outside the UK. They are my supplier too. I have never visited Lourdes myself but have a beautiful rosary from there which funnily enough was given to me by the hospital chaplain when I ended up in hospital last year. Good luck with your visit and may it go well for you.

Hello. Depends how much oxygen you are on. A portable oxygen machine can be hired for on the flight and days out. You'll need a fit to fly test done by your respiratory nurses. Airlines will normally send you a form they can fill in. If your on a lot of oxygen then it's hard to get a fit to fly. I cant get one. Good luck.

Hi Dion50,

You will need to be assessed by your respiratory team at the hospital who ordered your oxygen to see how much oxygen you will need to travel by aircraft. You will also need a letter from your GP for the Airline you will be traveling with.

You cannot take the oxygen from the NHS out of this country. You can buy or hire a portable concentrator to use. Make sure it is small enough to take and use on the aircraft.

Hope this is of some help.

God bless.

It's a lovely place last time I went was 2008 year after my mum died from cancer and there's the German military choir which brought me to tears it wAs that moving listening to them,.is it just yo and your aunt going to loudest.

I was going to suggest something if you go with the church doesn't matter if you religious or not they have nurses and drs who goes with you and they book everything for including insurance and they get a ward in the hospital what in the grotto and they take you out on a trip also handle your luggage for you.

They take you from door to airport and from airport to wherever your staying.

I would recommend this way then you don't have to worry about anything including your oxygen.

Hope this helps

Sorry that I was unable to get back to you sooner Kyra couldn't understand the problem as she says all her patients that have required oxygen have it all sorted before they travel with the company who have arranged your travel If a trip has been arranged with either your church or a group of churches meetings are usually arranged to discuss these sort of things. Insurance is usually arranged as a group, and is done for you. She has sent an e mail to there Chief Nurse and is still awaiting a response from her.

Hi, i had the same problem when i wanted to book a holiday abroad. The only answer is to rent or buy one. The prices i were quoted ranged between £600-£900 a week! Bear in mind if you were to buy one, it would have to comply with travel regulations, which happen to be the most expensive on the market, £1500+. I ended up cancelling my holiday because of the added expense. Even the travel insurance was starting at £750 for the week. Good luck, hope you sort it ok 🙂
