I don't really think that is true, Davey. You knew that your father-in-law was unwell and it was his time to pass, nothing you could do to prevent that. Have you got your friend nearby, to help you through this? Can you ask neighbours to help you with the funeral arrangements? You know we are here for you to talk to, so don't hesitate to come on and let us know how things are going. Take care now xxx

I've kinda isolated myself from folks , I've been keeping myself to myself plus there's the language barrier . But all funeral arrangements I've completed so I'm now taking a well earned ten minutes with a jack Daniels

Yes glad getting things sorted was pretty straight forward. Can't settle I feel totally lost and alone in a village full of people.

I think that's understandable Davey, it has been quite a shock losing your father-in-law and will have left you feeling all alone after having him there for so long. Give yourself time to grieve so that in time you will go out and meet people again. Can you not contact your friend who took you for a meal the other night, he would be happy to support you at this difficult time. Go easy on yourself xxx

If I'm totally honest I'm more angry that he went not me . I have my reasons for this . I'm cleaning up at moment trying to keep mind occupied. Was in a bad place before today but this as just added to it . Normally I would be on the roof looking at the stars but tonight just want to keep busy .

Anger is a part of the process of grieving, just one of the phases and is quite normal after someone dies. Do be kind to yourself. It's good that you're reaching out to us at this time.

Just wanted to say, that last night I made the mistake of saying it was your father-in-law that you had lost and now i realise it was your stepfather. I do apologise, Davey, really got mixed up, which didn't help you much!! What lovely messages of sympathy you have had from your friends here, we are all thinking of you xxx

I think at the moment I have enough to get on with . I've spent five years caring for my stepfather and missed out on too much care for my own health . I intend to enjoy my night sky and the peace. My short term memory loss would also cause issues with learning languages I have days when I struggle remembering where the TV remote is 👍🏼

I’m sorry about your stepfather, but also to hear that you wish you had gone first. That’s a really hard place to be in. It must be extremely difficult when you don’t speak fluent Greek, coping with all this, and your own ill health.

I can't imagine how you are feeling at the moment but please be comforted somewhat by the fact that you looked after him so well during his final. Thank you , my doctor here said if I hadn't been here my stepfather would have been gone when he broke his hip because no one would have found him .
Davey. I am so sorry that you have had such a shock. You have been so careful in your care of your stepfather. I do hope that Monday is not too stressful for you you and that the stars and JackDaniels weave their magic and help you through this difficult time.

The days are going backwards at the moment but once Monday over yes I can move forward

Yes unfortunately , funeral on Monday. Life's been one train wreck after another just recently and I feel lost . Wish I could change places with him in all honesty . Anyway back to packing stuff up get the house empty by Tuesday. Busy busy busy
