From memory this is the coastline near Cascais, small town West of Lisbon. Not far from the most western point of mainland Europe. We did have the benefit of one of my wife`s English students, who happens to be a neurologist. She took time off work to show us around Lisbon and the coastal area. Then took us for super meal on the riverfront in Lisbon.

That coastal scene reminds me of St. Agnes, one of the Isles of Scilly. Had a lovely holiday there many years ago and sat for hours watching the sea, so peaceful and relaxing. Hope you are enjoying your holiday.

If you have the chance to go, Portugal is a wonderful country to visit. We`ve been to Lisbon 3-4 times and would return tomorrow if diesel was not so expensive. 2 euros/litre is not funny.

Is it suitable to get around on foot? I had the impression tha Lisbon was ver hilly and a bit too much for those with breathing issues.

Lisbon and Portugal in general are hilly. If you stay by the waterfront in Lisbon you are fine and obviously the towns/villages on the coast are easy for walking but turn hilly as soon as you start to go inland. Lisbon does however have a good tram service which goes up and down the hills with ease. Have to admit that most of our moving around was by car with excursions on foot. Even in the Algarve there are boardwalks on the sea front but serious climb down to the beaches. You would need to do a bit of research before going, Chris.

Yes, wind has dropped and temperature is due to fall by about 12 degrees, and it is now raining. Chris.
