If you contact your oxygen supplier in the UK they should be able to put you in touch with a supplier in Benidorm,

Hiya,I was wondering if you got anything sorted? My mum needs oxygen 24/7, 1ltr when stationary and 4 when moving. She has contacted a company in the UK about hiring a machine and the battery only lasts 3.5hours which isn’t enough time to get to spain. She can hire an additional battery for £50 but that won’t really be ideal if she’s having to get up in the night to change it (as well as in the day). This is the first time we have had to do this and it feels like we are going around in circles. I guess the other option is to hire a machine from the UK and then also hire one in spain as per the response below. But that will mount up to £1500+. It’s not as simple as I’d hoped it would be.

Another question I have is, is the fit to fly certificate written by a consultant or is there a fit to fly test to ensure being at a higher altitude is going to be ok?

You have replied to me, Daedalus, instead of replying to daddiesgirl, so you will need to "reply" to her so that it will bring it to her attention instead of mine, otherwise she may miss your query.

Hi, only just read your post. I hope you managed to get sorted, but if not take a look at this .gov.uk page. My brother lives on Spain and last time I went over I hired a portable machine. It was expensive, £600 for 2 weeks! That was over 3 years ago. However, I'm now on a higher dose (3 ltrs/min) and need it for longer so a portable one isn't possible.

You can arrange for oxygen in Spain but need to book it well in advance from the health centre/hospital that covers the area you will be staying. All the contact details are on the document. Hope this link works.

Good luck, and have a lovely holiday. 😊
