Covid and prednisone

I have serious COPD. If you have a positive covid test; has anyone asked their Dr if it makes sense to start prednisone from your rescue drugs right away?

You should ask to be given an antiviral medication asap (works better if you can get it as soon as possible after your positive test).

I have severe copd and had covid at the beginning of February. As did my healthy husband. He was offered antivirals but the time delay was too great for me to have them. We managed with paracetamol, cough medicine etc. I didn't even ring my gp surgery.

You're welcome but covid can affect us differently. Only you really know when you need medical help.
