A big thank you to you all for being so kind in replying to me, I read all the posts each day but do not really contribute very often. This is a helpful site for advice and tips and I enjoy reading about you all. x

Good luck when you have the surgery. I have early cataracts and dread the thought of needing surgery to remove them in the future.

I had to have cataract surgery when renewing my driving licence just before age 75, have to reapply for it. Knew I could only just read number plate at 20 meters, wasnt prepares to lie on application, I’d been waiting long time, but my GP was helpful and got both eyes done at two different hospitals. The first was brilliant, very caring, and no bruises or pain, use local anaesthetic. The second eye was not quite so good, no anaesthetic, and got some bruises. Worse thing is seeing instrument coming to eye! But no regrets about having them done, and could really see better afterwards. Good luck, Jean
