NHS Shower Cap .

Has anyone tried this cap for hair washing ? If so , how did you get on ? Have long hair and hoping this will work , as oxygen levels fall on any slight exertion, but sadly unable to tolerate a traditional hair wash now . Would appreciate any comments. Thanks.

As a student with a freezing bathroom my daughter used to use a dry shampoo and found it brilliant, she had long thick hair then.

Dear Beachballs, I would have no idea what an NHS shower cap is! But I really hope it helps you! Thinking of you! ♥️

They are commercially sold shampoo caps rather than NHS shower cap. Amazon sell them as do E Bay, The Complete Care Shop and Boots chemist.

Hi yes . When I was in hospital a nurse told me about them. Very good. Just put them in Microwave for a couple of seconds. Put on head a rub. No need to rinse. You can get them on Amazon. Good luck.

I was given a shampoo shower cap in hospital. Sadly I hated it. It smelled horrible. I hate dirty hair but hated the cap more. Other patients loved them.

In ICU I was given a shower cap hair wash. As I already had a temperature and had to have lots of fans to cool me I found it too hot. I'm sure it would be fine if your temperature is ok.

Yes , can see what you are saying, don’t think I would have been too fussed about my hair if I was in ICU and had a temperature!

To be honest I wasn't but the nurses were lovely and thought a bit of pampering, even though I was lying down, would help to relax me.

They were amazing! Not only did they help pull me through with their medical knowledge and expertise but were so kind and thoughtful.

Thank you, Beachballs for posting this and everyone for your feedback. These caps sound really useful for people with little energy and for husbands who won't wash their hair. Imagine me sneaking up behind him when he's engrossed in his laptop, whipping off his glasses and putting it on his head. Hee, Hee.😁😂🤣
