From someone who has been in and out of hospital and on different IV and been pure hell forever

Since having the Covid vaccines I have had no exacerbations and been quite well for such a long time and that is so unusual for me, does anyone think that this could be down to the vaccine? I had the Astra Zeneca and a booster of phisor! I understand that the makers of Astra Zeneca are looking into pulmonary conditions as well as other diseases. Just saying 😉

Hi angie26. My consultant told me that many of her patients had been unusually exacerbation free through the lockdowns and since having the vaccines. Of course as no proper studies have been done the evidence is purely anectdoral. Whether due to isolating away from other people's germs and / or the effect of the vaccine on our immune systems is unknown. A good thing to wonder about anyway.

Hi I Angie you never know it could well be the reason you haven't had no exacerbations. Have a good day and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx

Thank you but I don't think the vaccines had anything to do with it. x

No idea about vaccines but I have been remarkably well during lockdown and even now. I was extremely unwell at beginning and first year of Covid but that was due to being unwell several months prior to situation. The past year I have been quite well and put this down to shielding and extra precautions even as lockdown finished. I think in my case it also helps that I am now retired and don’t have the added stress of work !!

Glad for you that you've been so much better Angie, whatever the cause.

Astra Zeneca make Symbicort, the steroid/bronchodilator that many here take including myself. So they have a history of involvement with pulmonary conditions. Ive had the same combo of AZ and Pfizer that you have but I havent noticed anything different - Ive had a strange cough but that started well before I had my booster so cant be due to that.

It would be great if they do more research and produce a drug that halts copd stone dead but hey - we can live in hope anyway. All the best :)

Oh yes I wish😷 is symbicort similar to trim bow which I take?

It's a combination powder inhaler with steroid and bronchodilator components, Angie. I dont know anything about Trimbow.

So glad to hear you are feeling well angie26 and long may it continue. I think it is probably due to removing yourself from the public where the germs thrive x

Yes that’s probably true but don’t really want to live indoors forever but it makes us more aware which is good x

Have you still got your cat?

angie26 profile image

Yes I still have Leo,he's been so much fun as he is an indoor cat, he does go out in the garden but can't escape! we have large fir trees and a redwood and so it attrcts squirrels and the like and Leo makes the most fantastic noices when he sees them climbing up the trees. I did have many reactions to antibiotics and wondered if he was adding to my problems but I had an allergy test that proved that it was not Leo!! thank goodness
