Dear BLF community

We have taken the decision today to remove some comments that we would consider both political in nature and unhelpful to our members in relation to the pandemic and the covid vaccine. As a lung charity we take our advice from Government experts and would encourage all those who can have the vaccine to do so.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you Debs. I’m just really pleased Pete and I have had our booster jab. No reaction either. Xxx

Thanks for taking those comments off as they wind me up something chronic!

I seem to have missed something -or maybe I just scrolled past

Perhaps this is why the site is no longer so interesting as it used to be with conflicting comments. I loved HealthUnlocked but now it’s only usefulness is to look up certain medication etc. it’s getting difficult to even make a witty quip. ☹️

I must have missed them, but if this is to remove covid disinformation then well done. The amount of people that have 'done their own research' and don't believe medical advice is a plague on the internet.

You trust this government?

in reply to Perrythomas

No I have no confidence in them but I have plenty of confidence in myself and making the best decisions I can with what I know at the time.

I did not see the post and agree that it should be removed if it was covid disinformation but if it was about someones own reaction to the vaccine surely not. People should surely be able to report what has happened to them.

Thanks Debs. I had my booster at Ingleston Edinburgh, I had a bout an hour to wait but it was well worth the wait .They very kindly gave my Grandson (who is my carer), a booster and an annual flu jab.

Thank you so much to the staff and nurses for all their help and patience, (patience with me ) not easy job.

in reply to tomc

Yes the nurses were nice as the cardiff vaccine centres as well when I had my jabs.

Having had lung cancer & COPD, also my husband recently having had throat cancer thought we would have been able to have the booster, but no, I tried at the drs, phone the helpline only to be told to wait for a letter then I could book - we came back from our home in the UK to our Malta home to find we had missed our booster appt, no prob, phoned the freephone line, booked in & have had our booster. All done & dusted - feel so safe here - can't see a gp in the UK, here you can see one 24/7 face to face. Now I when I return home to the UK I am always worried health wise - we are both 78/79 & OK 'up top' but what happens to those poor people who live alone, have no close relatives/friends & do not use the net!!!

A storm in a tea cup comes to mind and a shame one or two people hijack a post to put across their controversial views when i would be quite happy for them to put up there somewhat cranky theorys in a seperate post where it could be openy but politely debated?
