Hi everyone have just had my flue jab and the nurse asked if I had had any antibiotics recently is this a normal question ? I answered no as so used to taking azitromysin forgot about them. ?

I had my flu vaccine a couple of weeks ago. I wasn’t asked about antibiotics but was asked when I had my Covid vaccines 🤷‍♀️

Hi Pokermon. I took azith for 5 years and it never mattered when it came to the flu jab because you take them to prevent an infection.She really should have asked if you had an active infection at the moment, like a cold, flu or chest infection which required a dose of abs. Don"t worry. XXX

Hi pokermon maybe it depends on what flu jabs they were giving as they do live culture and dead cell culture option on ages

A couple of years ago I was asked this by the pharmacist who was giving the shot and when I said yes ( I was towards the end of a two week course of doxycycline) she said I couldn't have the shot! A few days later I went to the GP to get the flu shot and I asked about this and she said there was no problem if you are taking antibiotics, you just shouldn't have it if you have a fever.

I’ve never been asked that question.they usually ask if have symptoms. I reply. I’m as I always am and they just carry on with the fax.I’ve been on Azithromycin for 3 years.never even thought about it.

It’s used as prophylactic for me ,not to treat active infection.
