Silly in Sidmouth

Drove Saturday from Southport to Sidmouth, an awful journey that took nine hours.Awoke yesterday with sats at 84. Same again this morning. Suspicious of chest infection but no phlegm of any colour. This afternoon had a tortoise speed walk down the High Street. When 20 yards from our car my life partner decided to dash to a shop for something she had spotted earlier. What did I do?? Got halfway to the car and crumpled onto to the tarmac road, came to my senses being helped to my feet by two young men and on to a chair brought out from a local bakery. An ambulance was called by a young lady who was very kindly attending to my bleeding forehead. Do I look a bonnie bugger!! The paramedics were brilliant, checked me over and after discussion about my condition decided we could return to our rented bungalow. Reminded me that the last time I had that feeling of going to faint was in school assembly when I went down and took with me those standing next to me. Now started on my emergency pack and the paramedic rang my doctor in Southport to advise them. Very grateful to all that helped.

So glad you got the help you needed, 9 hours driving that is too long. I am thinking 4 hours is too much for me now, it is the exhaustion that goes with it.

Wishing you a good recovering and a short lived chest infection.

Best wishes BK

Sincere thanks to all posters. Will be taking it easy today. It certainly is brilliant that in an emergency unknown persons rushed to my predicament.

Sidmouth was my Husband and my favourite place that was fairly local for us. I hope you have now recovered from your accident. It must have been pretty scary. When I do anything like that I get annoyed with myself. I think we all believe we can do the same as we used to but we can’t.

Anyway I hope you’re well on the way to recovery. X

Journey down to within 50 miles of sidmouth was only 4 hours including 2 furosemide enforced breaks. The last 50 miles was just total logjam on all routes from junction 24 of the M5. Will probably travel home late evening in hope of a better journey, here's hoping.
