Went to hospital today and met my nurses for the first time. Very helpful and easy to talk to so tha is good. They couldn't give me my results of the breathing test I did as said to complicated and that the Dr will write to me about them. So none the wiser they are going to ask Dr about stopping my antibiotics for a summer break not sure hats a ood idea with the virus still about but they know best. I think.

Pleased you met your nurses and hope you get your breathing test results soon. Some do take a break from antibiotics over summer and it’s something to talk about with your doctor.

Take care. Wishing you well. Xxxx

Please do not worry over having a summer break from antibiotics, they do not work against viruses, only against bacteria. There will be no increased chance of catching Covid as a result.

Hi sweetheart. I am ptesuming that you take azithromycin three times each week. Some people stop it during the summer but by no means everybody. You may be a little more at risk of picking up other people's bugs if you are beginning to go out more as covid recedes. So to keep taking it for protection may be sensible. On the other hand. If you are feeling really well with your chest and would like a break from taking it that is ok too. Most important thing - make up your own mind and don't be bullied into doing something that you don't want to do. You actually do know your body better than anyone else ( with the possible exception of your fab Mum 😊) x

That's some good news 😃 it helps a lot when you have some friendly staff, it makes big difference and can lighten your mood, special in hospitals. Happy for you 😊Hope you will get the answer shortly or get a call from your Doctor about this.

Best wishes and sending a virtual hug LOL 😋

Dear Pokermon, I’m really glad the nurse was good and understanding! Hopefully it won’t be too long before you get your breathing test results!

As 2greys said, I wouldn’t worry about stopping the antibiotics in the scheme of covid as they work against bacteria rather than viruses. Maybe speak to your mum and doctor about how you feel about this.

Have you got half term coming up? Have a good rest and do some nice things!

Lots of love 💕

Good to hear you have a great team. I spoke to my Bronchiectasis Consultant yesterday & he advised to continue with 3× weekly antibiotics for rest of this year with no Summer break.
