Nasal cannula irritation

Good morning everyone. Sometimes my nasal cannula causes irritation to my cheeks and around the top of my ears. I have seen pictures of people adding some kind of soft padding around them but I can’t find a site anywhere that sells anything of that nature. Does anyone else have this problem and if so what do they use.

Thank you all in advance.

Hi Joe, my supplier is Air Liquide and they supply them. They do tend to pop off but that could just be my ears lol. Give your supplier a call.🐶Jax

I got mine from my Oxygen Supplier too (Dolby Vivisol) after reading about them on here (you have to ask because it seems some people don't have a problem). As HighGables mentions, they do tend to pop off.

Hi you can ask your GP/Nurse to provide you with a barrier cream.....very effective.

There are some cannulas with a length of padding on the ear piece. I don’t like it and cut it off! Shows how we’re all different. Have you tried wearing it behind your head for a while? Less pressure on your ears. Maybe whilst you are seated watching tv etc. . Good luck. I hope you get sorted soon. Joy. x

Thanks for that tip Joy. I’ve never tried that, so will give it a go next time they get sore. Jax 🐶x
