Hi Mrbojangles, good luck with your new CPAP machine, I’ve been on BiPAP for three years now, I had a phone consultation with my Respiratory Specialist this morning and had my pressure turned down, because I’ve lost two and a half stone.

You might struggle with the CPAP mask at first, but once you get it adjusted for fit you will soon get used to it, it soon becomes second nature wearing it and you will really notice the benefit with your sleeping and general health.

Hi all you lovely people, I don’t post on here often but always am impressed by the knowledge everyone shares. I think you all may have solved a problem I have been having recently. I use BiPap but lately have not been going to bed until about 1am instead of my usual 11 ish. I have recently been getting headaches every day and after reading all your posts am now wondering if this is the reason. Not spending enough time on it. Thank you for sharing all your vital experiences. I will try to get to bed earlier.

Hi. Been using mine since 2017. Don't put vaseline on mask or face They said to use as much h as possible i don't tend to get off to sleep until after 1am and get up about 7am so don't get a lot of use overnight so I usually i do a couple of hours during the g the day to help. Hope all goes well

Hi Spacecat1, I do the same as you with my BiPAP, I go to bed at 11pm and put my mask on and switch the BiPAP on, I don’t actually get in bed until about 11.30pm I then get up between 6 and 6.30am.

I then go on my BiPAP for about 2 hours in the afternoon, while I’m on my PC, this makes up the time on the machine to about 9 hours, which stops my CO2 retention affecting me and gives me much more energy to get on with my life.

Hi! I just wanted to say that my Husband had a CPap and the difference was incredible. Before he would fall asleep anywhere. After he could spend the whole day awake. He did really well with it. I’m sure once you get used to it you will be a different person.
