Sounds grim doesnt it? I dont use salbutomal as it stopped working for me long ago but concerned for others. So far it seems everyone is fine.

It’s not mould in the inhaler, as in a biological contaminant, it means a manufacturing defect in the physical moulding of the plastic of the inhaler. The inhalers remain safe to use, the worst they’re worried about is a loss of powder: theoretically, this could mean you get less doses out of an inhaler than anticipated.

Oh. I read it as mould in the inhaler although mine aren't affected

Thanks for the clarification Charlie.

Must be badly worded. Can't possibly be us being thick 😉

You're right Charlie, although "defect possibly presents as a hole in the bulk chamber resulting in the minor loss of inhalation powder." could indicate contamination of that chamber, through said hole, air, moisture etc. does = mould (potential)

All speculation of course. :)

Checked my pl number ,mine is fine thank you .

Thanks for the info, O2, very useful 👍 Just to clarify your exchange with Bkin, though, this is a manufacturing flaw in the plastic of the inhaler. The word mould in this context relates to the formation of the plastic housing, rather than any biological nasty accidentally contaminating the inhalers. The risk is that a small amount of powder is being lost due to a possible hole (a flaw in the moulding).

Anybody have a problem with a blue easyhaler leaking? I have one (different batch) that is losing powder.
