Words on this plate are

Daffodils, that come before the swallows dare

And take the winds of March with beauty.

I always look forward to seeing your lovely plates each month Iris, together with the poem. I remember you telling us how and when you got them. My grandmother collected some delicate bone china figurines over the years and displayed them in her glass cabinet. When visiting her I was particularly taken with a little shepherdess with a crook and another she called 'The Blue Boy'. I dont who he could be though he was obviously someone of some significance.Cheers x

I was a real collector of all sorts of china, and when we moved to our present home there was a market just ten minutes walk away. -heaven! Not been to the market or charity shops now for months, not sure now of how steady my walking is these days. Ok to walk round the garden or pop to my sons house, count my blessings. Just ordered a new shopping trolley, a Shelley, hope that will help. Love Iris x

Lovely plate. The quote's from The Winters Tale, which I had to teach long ago (it shows, doesn't it), which is all about winter turning to spring metaphorically speaking. Very appropriate for this time of year- my daffodils are beginning to show+ a few tiny irises which have survived the horrible winter. xxx
