Hi everyone I hope you are all keeping safe.

I got some results from my consultant, I have to have a broncospity but because of covid it may take a while my lung function is less than 60% they will be putting me on steroids for 3 months and I will have to have Oxegen.

So more tests and blood tests needed for a definitive result. There is scaring on the top of my lungs that have been there for quiet some time so my lungs have been damaged. I hope this makes sense to you all. I shall be contacting BHF to speak to

It's all a bit too much for me

As you know it's surreal.

Thank you for your support yesterday I'll be back when they can tell me what I have.

Hi Mickie, my lung function is at approximately 28% I have pulmonary aspergillosis and COPD, I’m not on steroids or oxygen my resting sats are still o/k. I get very breathless so need walking aids if I go out (Walker, mobility scooter) and I still drive. I have a positive outlook and focus on what I can do, not what I can’t do. Good luck with the future tests and stay positive

It does all feel surreal to start with when you hear these pieces of news! And the waiting is hard I find, waiting for tests, waiting results etc, but I really hope the doctors find a good plan and treatment for you soon!

Don’t forget to keep asking questions! Anything you feel you want to know! No question is too small or silly!

Take care Mickie!

Best wishes to you for future treatment, take care of yourself. People on this site will be a source of information and advice over that time. They eased my worries when I was diagnosed with copd.

As one who has both heart and lung conditions I sympathise with you, but it is better to know than not because then the doctors can help you. They sedate you for a bronchoscopy, I went to sleep during mine! The oxygen will make you feel much better, the downside is trailing the tubes about and preventing the dog sitting on them, the husband standing on them and me tripping over them - not unknown apparently. So far I have managed not to do that. Also the lack of spontaneity for going out. I’m sure you will manage all this really well. Good luck with all your tests. Thinking of you xx

Hello Mickie. It all sounds a lot to take in. No wonder you're confused. Sounds like they have ideas to try to improve your health. I hope you don't have to wait long for that bronchoscopy. I had one; I was absolutely dreading it, but it was a doddle and I felt much better afterwards. Good luck and best wishes.
