Hola! Upon recommendation I signed up this morning. I am looking to buy an exercise bike, mid-price, £150 - any recommendations, please.

Hi - I bought a Reebok ZR8 from Argos a few years ago. I don’t think they carry that particular model anymore, but Argos have a number of bikes at reasonable prices. Mine isn’t a performance machine, but it has adequate numerous settings to keep me challenged. The only downside is it is quite bulky, and heavy to move around. So check you have the space to leave it where you use it. There are some foldable ones which might work better if space is an issue.

At present I am building up my strength and stamina, so I’m only using it at low settings for 10-15 minutes a day. But I am very much feeling the benefits of being “lighter on my feet” instead of being a bit slow, and better able to complete my dog walk without being very breathless at the end. I still stop during the walk, but I’m feeling more capable than I was after only a few weeks. Plus my thigh muscles are getting stronger. I haven’t lost any weight! 😕😏

I watch YouTube videos on my iPad propped up on it to keep me mentally occupied - right now of people walking around lovely sunny Mediterranean towns whilst stuck here in grey England!

Hi beech, thank you for all that. I shall look at Argos and try and make snd educated guess as to which one I should buy. I don’t want anything too complicated mainly because I would get bored trying to work it out. So a saddle, and two peddles plus handlebars will be good😜

Welcome ValentineX

Had my stationary exercise bike for a while I can't remember where I bought it, could have been Argos or Amazon, my counter no longer works, but can still up the resistance if I want to. Mostly it acts as hat and theraband holder now, but I do still get it in position for cycling occasionally.

Thank you very much for looking at the make and sending me another message. I live in a fairly busy part of London and daren’t ride a bicycle on the roads - too many accidents. An ex-colleague phoned me after many years and coincidentally he’s just bought one but his recommendation was out of my price range. One again, thank you.

Hi ValentineX and welcome to the site. Have you tried ebay, it may be worth checking it out and trying a used one to see if you would use it before spending alot of money x

Hi Izb1, That is a very good idea and it will have already been assembled as well. I will have a good look tonight and hope that someone is upgrading. Thank you x
