Well I had my tests I had breathing tests done at royal Brompton did about half of them was so out of breathe then short car ride away to Surrey street
for dect andigram and CT with contrast dye that's when it all went wrong seems after using a scan to find a suitable vein scan was started then I heard them say now starting contrast I then shouted it was hurting for everyone to rush over to me my vein had collapsed they mopped the blood up squeezed the contrast dye that had now gone in my tissue and put ice pack on at least they managed to get some in to do a scan but left me in pain since the journey was 4 hrs up there and 4 back my arm started swelling so put another ice pack on it phone doctor in the morning who said if swelling going down it's fine I thought ok sorry I bothered u being in pain and wanting someone to put me at ease no one would come out even the receptionist I tried to get district nurse out insisted staff extremely busy but eventually got me a phone call well I hope it was worth it I did find the staff attentive and caring in London but I had a return ambulance booked and everyone's shift finished so again left to deal with things on my own long day next to do is start my husband's funeral coroner decided inquest necessary but will issue me with a half certificate so I can bury him been a shit month sorry for swear word but lifes pretty horrible at the moment

You poor thing, how dreadful for you. Don't worry about swearing it's the least you needed to do I think. I'm sorry you had to go through all of the trauma it sounded very scary. Oh my goodness , you’ve really been in the wars! Hope the swelling and pain has gone. I think you have enough on with your sad bereavement at this time without all the priding and probing. I hope you have some support or can get some over the next few weeks to deal with everything . Take care of you. Cx😘💐
You poor thing. My heart goes out to you. Hope you feel better and in less pain. You can obviously do without it at the moment. My best wishes to you at this very stressful and sad time for you.
Thankyou I wish someone could hug me it's not just me hurting our children are in bits and because I'm vunerable with emphysema I can't even hug them my heart goes out to everybody that has lost someone especially in these rotten times grief shouldn't be surpressed

Goodness, you are having a tough time , hope things calm down a little for you and you get help to share the load . It’s sounds like you have to be strong for all of you ! Good luck and keep going ! xx
Bless thankyou I'm so struggling with my breathing and all my copd nurse says is it's properbly the copd has got worse funny enough when my vein went my breathing improved for a day hope they get back to me soon I don't want to keep getting up to do the basics or bathroom drink wish I had some relief my doc and nurse just won't come out I need some good news
I know , it’s very difficult to get anybody out these days , it’s all video calls and telephone calls , and I can sense you are very anxious, you need to have that re-assurance and also a bit of kindness as well. Do you have a respiratory nurse at the Brompton? Maybe you could call them ?
No no one as of yet still no results my husband's funeral Friday I'm struggling with sob I hop,e I can walk to his grave it's a bit of a walk appantly from church I said goodbye to him the other day at the chapel of rest god that was hard hope my health keeps good

I know about "Angiograms" very painful, I had to squeeze the Hand of my caring Nurse, left nail marks in her skin. Oh so sorry to hear this. When my nephew died aged 22 we had to wait a 10 months for an inquest ( pre Covid) so my heart goes out to you. We could bury him but the rest was heart breaking, months of pain for my Sister. I hope you can get answers soon & grieve in peace

Life is so unfair sometimes!! Sorry for the loss of your hubby, i can't imagine what your going through. That would of scared me horribly with blood coming out of your vein. I have a real phobia of needles. Youd think id be used to giving blood samples by now, ive had so many, but no, every time i get myself all worked up inside til the panic comes on lol. Did they manage to get the scan done at least? Xx
That's how my lung problems turned up, ct scan with contrast dye. All xrays i ever had done said "clear ". Think things need to be in a severe state before they show on xrays. Well some problems , not all. Keep us posted xx
Will do Hun believe it or not when my vein collapsed for the next day my breathing improved didn't last long though I think my arteries are blocked looking forward to breathing properly if that's what's causing it my nurse said it's properbly your copd has got worse I need her like a hole in the head right now if you think this is how you will feel I'm gonna go right down hill I really don't think they think before they speak
Sadly I have nothing positive to say about the Brompton hospital, despite being confident as they are one of the leading hospital’s specialising in my particular issues. My experiences can be summed up with the following words.. Incompetence, patronising, totally inadequate, dispassionate, unreasonable.
Apart from the vein problem and lack of porters as I was so out of breathe I needed a wheelchair I found the staff caring and when's it of there way to help me I'm sorry u didn't have a good encounter with them but I've been struggling to get help from my doctor and lung specialist down here and got no where I've been pushing for these appointments for a year so was relieved I managed to get appointments sorted hope u are well all I do is hope I get somewhere and feel better u take care hun
Well I'm phoning the Brompton again tommorrow I've really had enough damm pains in my arms doctors ignoring me maybe they think it's a joke being in pain struggling to breathe and grieving I wonder how they will cope if it was them I'm so angry I need answers not just for my health but inquest next year as to exactly what killed my husband I wish I could have just a bit of good luck
You tell them, they need to finally listen! You've got too much on your plate at the moment without dealing with a lot of pain. Maybe the pain actually signifies something, have they considered that? Yes, do speak up and keep on speaking up until they start listening. Ask who you can talk to about their lack of concern.
So do I I just want some relief some answers don't worry I'm gonna give them stick tommorrow bless u I'll let u know what happens tommorrow fingers crossed someone will help

We are all hear to listen, advise and give you what support we can.
This is my advice based on my sufferings with RPH and St George's as they were horrible:
1- contact PALS office at hospital to officially complain.
2-Ask the Hospital to give you the medical record and image from the radiologist not the Clinic consultant Who knows nothing but looking to his laptop to get answer.
3- ask GP to refer you to another hospital for second opinion and then maybe transfer you to that hospital . It is your right to have this new service
4- if very worried you can though internet contact a USA firm to review your test records . They employ top radiologist consultants and charge $200 for that. I think I sent the address earlier to this site

Finally got through to the Brompton hospital consultant on holiday they didn't some extra details from my doctor so got me confused with someone else from Sussex told me they waiting for extra info from my lung specialist in Sussex I said I live in Suffolk and my lung specialist in Norfolk so gave her my lung specialist name and the name of the hospital she said he will phone me on the 5th Nov at between 2-4 pm I did say about my husband passing away so she wouldn't bloody well forget the patient crying on the phone really sob as well hopefully
Thankyou because I've waited all day for my doctor's which is around the corner to put me out some BP meds still not done dispite phoning this morning meanwhile I don't seem to be getting through to them that I'm out of breathe and u can't take a duretic past 4pm as I don't want to be up all night peeing and I want my breathing to be better by Friday for the funeral receptionist says she will try and grab the nurse who was doing my BP reading to then speak to a doctor as mine on holiday to see what meds I'm going on u can't make this up I'm so frustrated

Thankyou nurse just phoned said BP not that bad either take indampamide even through I came off those because of side effects or see doctor when his back of holiday Monday guess I'm going to be out of breathe I was hoping they would do something to alleviate it now I'm just sitting here crying and not t wanting to get up god I hate this bloody disease and all the unsympathetic doctors
Would phoning 111 be any good? I don't know what to advise you. Perhaps tell them you are at your wits end because no one is taking you and your issues seriously. Help!
Anytime I needed 111 and was taken to hospital they put u on the hospital bed monitor u then say your fine u can go home after a few hrs it's when I move I tell them I think I'll start a course of antibiotics im wheezing if they won't help I'll try them thankyou for your reply now I'm just getting angry at their lack of empathy see how antibotics go fingers crossed
