Does anyone know why this PARTICULAR injection has such a history of unpleasant side effects . ? Every year , without fail , within about two hours of having it , - it starts - I just feel ill ... Its got to the stage where I now get everything ready in my bedroom - get me cot ready !!,- HAVE THE INJECTION , - get back from the surgery as quick as I can , and jump in my cot and await for it to start ..!.. I actually know someone who spent a few days in hospital after having his ...... and even they were'nt too sure what was going on either !My horrible effects last about three days , before it passes away , hopefully - not me with it !! , .so folks , is it , as the song goes ......." JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS " ? ...- My injection is tomoror --- so here goes - wish me luck - lots of thanklies !!

Sorry no effects from mine this year and rarely in any year since 1979.

I hope it's not too bad for you this year

I have never had any side effects, and been having it as long as I can remember .

Sorry to hear it makes you seem poorly.

I’ve been fortunate so far too and due to have mine later today, so keeping fingers crossed, as other than trouble clearing my chest of a morning I’m feeling really well at the minute.

Must admit my husband has suffered several years in a row and won’t have it again now despite being advised to.

Stay safe, fit and well everyone!!

Never had a problem. However, I have found that if I convince myself that my body will react in a certain way in certain circumstances, it will often oblige. 😉 Best of British for tomorrow.👍x

Never had side effects, but 2 weeks to go to mine, so should never say never! Good luck with yours, hope you are not too affected.

The vaccine is different every year.

Mostly I don't get any problematic side affects. My doctor did tell me once when I had a bad reaction that if you get serious reactions its best not to have it. But in our case of damaged lungs what really is the lesser of 2 evils? .... ;

Reaction from the injection with some protection against the flu virus bugs and likely less serious symptom if we got flu; or

no protection with risk of more serious experience of the flu if we get the flu with the added risk of even more very serious complications.

The choice is with the individual, I know what I would choose.

Hi Vittorio

I never have the flu jab. It’s proven to only give 40-60% protection. This is because flu mutates every year, therefore the vaccine does not have the capability to know what the new strain will be!

I personally just boost my immune system with vitamins & supplements to ensure my body is in peak condition to fight off colds & flu😉

Best regards, Inquisitive me.

You must be allergic to some constituent . It used to be people reacting to eggs when it was produced in eggs . I and the whole lab where i worked all had very bad reactions one year ( we worked with typhoid so were given injections every year) This time there was

apparently a new method using acetone to kill the organism . It wasnt used again.!

Hope its not so bad for you this year

I’ve been fine with flu jab apart from last 2 years When I got a few aches and runny nose. But that’s it.

No problems with mine today. The nurse did mention though this one takes 2 weeks to make the antibodies .🤔 Flu jabs are not live so apart from a sore arm for a day or two . Side effects should be minimal .

I just got a really, really aching arm but my 20 year old asthmatic daughter felt very poorly afterwards, headache, nausea and just felt generally ill for a day or so. I thought that as it’s not a live vaccine the only issue could be pain at the injection site but so many people seem to have a reaction.

I reacted it’s total exhaustion, bed ridden. Doc said happens within 2 days but lasts about 3 days. It’s reported on internet as possible side effect. First time I’ve had any real side effects.
